Main Events

We are a collection of live original music, education & networking that are highlighted by ceremonial events and individual writer experiences over a several day period.

The schedule below depicts the overall outline of Fest happenings and how everything kinda flows through each day, day by day. More detailed schedules and locations of writer performances, class specifics, networking & volunteer specifics can be found in the menu under Stages & Schedules.

Keep posted as we are always in a developing situation where someone with a great idea wants to pile on, so we usually let them. You see, the fest is more of a happening than an event. It's what YOU make it. Come make it!

Day 1, Friday, June 1st, 2012

Day One on the schedule features the Main Kick Off Ceremony and the Grand Master Presentation.

The Singer Songwriter performances start about 5:30pm but the Festival is an all day affair beginning in the morning with Pro Instructor Classes and an Open House.

To cap the night off, the Open Sing Ring hosted by Keeli at one of the outdoor stage locations begins about midnight and usually runs till daylight.

3 pm	9 pm	Music Speciality Rooms - Part I: Attend one or more, or all these insightful classes or Music Speciality Rooms of these categories on the first or seconf floor of the Music Row Best Western.
11:00 am	6:00 pm	Open House - Day 1: Drop by and visit various music related business at their place of business without an appointment to exchange samples, ask questions and find out, "What part they play in the music biz?"
4:30 pm 5:30 pm	11:00 pm 6:00 pm	Informational & Display Booths near the main stage are now open to traffic. Main Kick Off Ceremony: The performance aspects of the Fest are officially opened during this ceremony at the Main Stage by featured writers.
5:30 pm	Midnight	Writer Performances Begin: The Nashville Songwriters Festival features original music performed by singer songwriters at multiple venues in multiple locations. Also included in the mix of performances are the Featured Writers of the Fest.
8:00 pm	8:30 pm	Grand Master Presentation: The Festival Grand Master is presented the Keys to Music Row and bestows his special blessings, protections and powers upon all the songwriters in Music Land at the Main Stage.
12:00 am	till?	After Hours Open Sing Ring - 1^st Evening: Not yet ready to call it an evening? Be a part of the entertainment hosted by Keeli. Writers take turns playing unplugged as the Circle goes 'round and 'round. Play along to others while you wait your turn. This is an easy going affair and last as long as there are still two players. Last player standing or sitting turns off the lights to Music Row as they depart.
