In reaction to the ongoing behavior and decline of the established music and broadcasting industries by their many years long failure of their monopolies to touch listeners, we hereby hold this Convention in united opposition to these tyrannies imposed by the status quo.
We do hereby form a union of confederated music states for the common defense, liberty of access and the mutual welfare of all music inventors. Be notified of the gathering and drafting of a Declaration of Music Independence resolution and formation of the United States of Music.
Therefore, it becomes necessary to dissolve the bands of the major music industries which have sought to dominate a free music people and we declare ourselves separate and of equal station to which we are entitle a decent respect to our opinions.
We hold these truths that all music is created and endowed with certain unalienable listeners. Our Rights include the unfretted pursuit of Music Happiness and Liberty. That whenever any Industry becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the Music People to alter or abolish those that seek to oppress and effect their Happiness.
We, therefore, the Representatives of the United States of Music, in General Congress, Assembled, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good music citizens of the world, solemnly publish and declare, That these United Music States are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent, that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the prevalent behavior of these corporations, and that all connection between them and the United States of Music, to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent Music States shall Contract our own Alliances, establish our own Commerce, and to do all other Acts that Independent Music States may do.
